The Air96 makes some improvements over the existing Air60 and Air75 low profile boards made by NuPhy, but does it offer the best low profile typing experience on the market?
NuPhy has been winning me over with each new product they’ve released since the original Air 60 and 75, including the Halo series high profile keyboards (see my review of the Halo96 here), and the Air96 is no exception. Even though I have used the same Gateron Low Profile 2.0 switches in competitor boards with similar keycaps, the typing experience on the Air96 just feels better. My only issues so far have been the light factory lube on both the Gateron and NuPhy collab swtiches (a tad scratchy with a little ping – nothing some additional lube can’t fix), and the current state of NuPhy console, the remapping software you’re required to use if you want to customize any key functions or locations. Check out the video for my full review and sound test of both the Low Profile Brown 2.0 and Wisteria switches.
